Niagara College continued to bring the world to Niagara this spring by welcoming a cohort of the Human Resources (HR) Consortium Mongolia to participate in the Global HR Leadership (GHRL) program.
From May 7 to 12, fifteen professionals from seven Mongolian companies participated in this customized program, developed and delivered by Niagara College’s Institute for Global Education and Training. The initiative was made possible through collaboration with the Mongolia-based firm PHR Consulting, which helped coordinate the group’s visit to Canada.
The participants consisted of intermediate and senior-level HR professionals from various industries, all of whom were members of the Human Resources Consortium Mongolia. The program was designed to strengthen their strategic HR leadership skills, provide global benchmarking opportunities, and foster meaningful connections between HR professionals in Canada and Mongolia.
“The GHRL program has gone above and beyond our expectations,” said Bold Bayasgalan, Director of PHR Consulting. “We are deeply grateful to the NC team for their expertise, care, and collaboration throughout the experience. We look forward to many more meaningful and impactful training opportunities together.”
The customized training featured a series of interactive and immersive sessions led by Niagara College faculty and guest speakers at the Daniel J. Patterson Campus in Niagara-on-the-Lake.
“This program is a powerful example of what can be achieved when global education and professional practice come together,” said Dr. Holly Catalfamo, NC Workshop Facilitator who developed the content for the program and led select sessions. “It supported the professional growth of participants while also creating valuable opportunities for learning and exchange among our faculty, students, and international guests.”

The sessions explored meaningful topics such as strategic HR leadership in the 21st century, the use of technology and artificial intelligence in recruitment, talent acquisition and performance management, trends in onboarding and organizational learning, and workforce development.
“The training offered valuable insights into the latest trends in HR management and expanded my perspective on how these can be applied in the Mongolian context,” said Oidov Enkhzul, Director of Human Resources at the National University of Mongolia. “It was a pleasure to learn alongside such a welcoming and knowledgeable team at Niagara College.”
Students from Niagara College’s HR programs joined the cohort for a collaborative session focused on organizational design across borders, fostering cross-cultural dialogue and shared learning. The GHRL program also featured a panel of senior HR leaders from the Canadian market, offering participants valuable perspectives into current industry trends.
Beyond the classroom, participants toured the Daniel J. Patterson Campus in Niagara-on-the-Lake and its learning enterprises, gaining firsthand experience of NC’s applied learning environment. They also took part in cultural excursions across the Niagara Region, including a trip to Niagara Falls and a visit to the historic village of Niagara-on-the-Lake. These activities gave participants a memorable experience of Canada’s vibrant hospitality.
Niagara College is proud to support global professional development through strategic partnerships. This collaboration underscores NC’s commitment to equipping professionals with the skills needed to make a meaningful impact in their communities.
