At Niagara College, the withdrawal process is designed to ensure international students are fully informed and supported.
If you are a current student considering withdrawal, you are invited to meet twice with your International Student Advisor or an International Division Representative. These meetings provide important guidance about your academic program, study permit, and—if applicable—the refund process.
Our goal is to make sure you have the information and support you need to ask questions, explore your options, and make decisions that keep you on track to achieve your educational goals in Canada.
Note: Completing the withdrawal request form does not finalize your withdrawal. Your request only becomes official once it has been approved. In some cases, you may be asked to provide additional documentation or attend a meeting to complete the process. Failure to complete all required steps will result in your withdrawal request being void.
Students who withdraw from an academic program at Niagara College will have their refund eligibility assessed in accordance with the policies established by the Ontario Ministry of Colleges, Universities, Research Excellence and Security (MCURES). This policy applies to tuition fees and deposits.
Withdrawal and deferral requests must be submitted no later than the “Tenth (10th) Day” of the term from which you are withdrawing. To find out when the last day to defer at no cost or withdraw with a refund is for a specific term, please visit the Important Dates page.
To defer your program start to a later term, email [email protected].
Academic Programs
- Refund Calculation = Total fees paid minus the MCURES Withdrawal fee.
- MCURES Withdrawal fee is calculated using the following formula:
- International Tuition ÷ Domestic Tuition x $500 CAD.
Visit tuition fee calculator for tuition fee amounts by program.
*Withdrawals for reasons other than study permit refusals are subject to the MCU Withdrawal fee, which applies to both tuition and deposit refunds.
