A message from NC Global Engagement:

It is with heartfelt congratulations that we wish Cindy Andrews all the best in her upcoming retirement.

Cindy has made significant contributions to Niagara College over the past 20 years. Cindy received the NC Administrator’s Award of Excellence in 2009 and was the first recipient of the NC Champion Award.

She started her career at NC in Continuing Education, working at the Maid of the Mist Campus, where she was responsible for part-time studies in Hospitality, Tourism and Culinary. Additionally, Cindy served as the Project Manager of the Tourism Industry Development Centre and oversaw the MMC Campus operations. It was during this time that she discovered a passion for supporting marginalized women, youth, and newcomers to Canada. Cindy was instrumental in forming a partnership with the Niagara Women’s Enterprise Centre (supported by the Ontario Women’s Directorate) resulting in the delivery of several customized programs for women on social assistance. Her advocacy for supporting women in need continued through her involvement with the One Thousand Women project that supported women in Brazil (Mulheres Mils).

Cindy joined the international team over 10 years ago and was responsible for planning, developing, budgeting, organizing, and supporting contract training activities within the division. In 2016, Cindy was seconded to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and began her NCKSA journey as the Principal of NC’s Al Majma’ah Campus. Enrollment increased from 45 to 275 students under her leadership. In 2018 she transferred to Al Ahsaa, a campus of over 1,800 students. The work was fulfilling for Cindy, who once again had the opportunity to improve the quality of life for her students. Upon completion of her secondment, she returned to her position as Manager, Global Customized Training & Consulting.

Cindy’s last day at Niagara College will be December 22, 2022. Cindy’s plans for retirement include volunteering, travelling, golfing, and reading.
