A message from NC’s Director of Global Engagement, Holly Catalfamo, Ed.D:

I am delighted to announce that Quinn de Vries is the successful candidate for the role of Manager, Global Education Projects (GEP), which she began on May 1.

Quinn brings over 15 years of global development experience leading and implementing a diverse portfolio of complex projects, working with government, private sector, and educational partners. Quinn has been the Acting Manager for the GEP team since September 2021 and has supported the team in the development of various funding submissions including new contracts with United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) International Centre for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (UNEVOC).

Quinn previously held roles with Seneca College and Global Innovation & Skills Development Canada (GISDC) and with Niagara College as an International Project Specialist in 2014, maintaining the department’s international project portfolio and managing international development projects.

In addition to her extensive experience in the international development field, Quinn holds a bachelor’s degree in History and Spanish from Brock University, an International Development Graduate Certificate from Humber College, and a Project Management Graduate Certificate from Humber College.

Quinn also co-founded and is presently on the board of a not-for-profit organization called Dominican-Canadian Community Development group (DCCD) that supports access to education initiatives in the Dominican Republic. She has been involved with the organization for 20 years.

As NC’s Manager of Global Education Projects, Quinn is responsible for managing the operational, fiscal, and human resources management of a portfolio of international development partnerships, programs, projects and global engagement initiatives that support the mutual capacity building of Niagara College and our global partners. Quinn’s extensive expertise in global development provides leadership for the Global Education project teams, while her strong relationship-building skills help develop strategic partnerships with key institutions in Canada and around the world.

Quinn is very excited to continue working with the Global Education Projects team and our partners throughout Niagara College to expand our global footprint in global capacity-building work. She will be based out of the Niagara Corporate Business Centre (NCBC) adjacent to the Daniel J. Patterson Campus in Niagara-on-the-Lake and can be reached by email at [email protected].

Please join me in welcoming Quinn, in her role as NC’s Manager, Global Education Projects, and in wishing her all the best in this new position.
