I know how hard it is to get used to the new environment, especially during these challenging times. A completely new country and no friends that could help. So, I will be glad to be your friend who will help you get to know the new world that holds new possibilities. Welcome to Niagara College!
I’m part of the LGBT group on campus where we gather to talk about several issues that affect the community, and we organize activities all year round. My plan is to eventually apply to the Permanent Resident Program to continue to work here in Canada.
If you have any questions regarding the College community or the support programs that are available to you, please don’t be afraid to contact me.
I’m from São José dos Campos, São Paulo, Brazil, and I am still here because of the borders were closed few days before my travel to Canada.
Unfortunately, I only speak Portuguese but I am improving my English since I started EAP course level 5A at Niagara College. Once I am fluent, I intend to learn French.
I am a Mechanical Engineer and have a bachelor diploma in Law, but almost all my work experience is in the logistic area.
I am married, and have two sons, 15 and 12 years old.
My academic course in Mechanical Engineering will start in September/2020, totally on line. Even though, my family and I would like to be already in Canada to start learning the Canadian culture, meeting my classmates and making friends.
If you need any help, please feel free to contact me, because I would like to repay all the support I’ve been receiving since I joined the Niagara College.
I remember as a new student I had some difficulties adapting to the online learning and accessing an online platform to learn all about registration, timetables, courses, assignments, deadline, assignment submission and much more regarding Niagara region economy, housing, transportation and leisure.
The times that we are going through are really hard and require an additional attention and support to our peers. No one better than a student who has gone through the process before can’t help a new student better, because they are going through the same challenges as we did in our beginnings.
Feel free to contact me, and I am more than glad to help you smooth your transition in the Canadian experience!
I am about to take the Administration Business & Marketing program at the Daniel J Patterson Campus (formally known as NOTL campus). I like to study languages, watch TV shows (specially comedies), solve puzzles, and to
go outside for either a walk or just to hang out with my friends. Before coming here to Canada, I lived in England for 1 Year. There I studied English. Also, I met a lot of people, so now I have a lot of friends all over the world!
I came to Canada for the first time in January of this year. I completed level 5 of the EAP program (English Academic Preparation) in April. Even though I couldn’t spend much time inside the campus, I enjoyed my classes and I am grateful for having a chance of making such good friends with who I keep in touch nowadays.
I will be glad to answer questions you may have. Your Niagara College journey starts right now!
I'm looking forward to meeting you. Please feel free to contact me, and I'll get in touch as soon as possible. I hope you enjoy your time here at NC!!!
Last year I graduated the Hospitality and Tourism Management (Certificate). This Fall, I am about to begin the International Business Management course at the Daniel J Patterson Campus (formally known as the NOTL Campus).
I am a very extrovert person, love making friends and helping them out. I have been in Canada over a year with my family. With this experience, I think that I can be of great help, giving out the best support possible and make newcomers feel settled safely and satisfied, with a friendly hand on and off campus.
look forward for meeting you, sure it will be a great pleasure. Feel free to contact me, and I will respond as quick as I can.
Welcome to Niagara College.
My name is Santiago but you can call me Santi!
I was born in Mexico and I know two languages; Spanish and English. I am currently enrolled in the Photonics Engineering Technology program at the Welland campus.
I consider myself as a friendly guy with a considerably high passion in science and technology (note why I chose the photonics program). I also really like listening to music and to sometimes perform along with it instrumentally! I also like to do sports, but my favourite sport is definitely Tennis. I am not a party guy (believe it or not), I’d rather stay at home doing something I like or playing some video games!
I will be very happy to answer to any of the questions that you may have!
