Obtaining College Documents

How to request and obtain college documents:

Students and graduates may require official college documents for a range of purposes including IRCC applications, banking and other business inside or outside of Canada.

Here are the most common documents an international student at Niagara College may need:

Confirmation of Enrolment (COE) letter

How to access: Download from your MyNC Portal – here is a Confirmation of Enrolment (COE) letter guide.

What does it show: The COE is proof of your current enrolment. It lists your program name, start date, and expected completion date. It also shows a term history for your time at Niagara College.

Why may I need it? Required for study permit extension applications and other purposes as required.

Confirmation of Graduation (COG) letter

How to access: Download from your MyNC Portal – here is a Confirmation of Graduation (COG) letter guide.

What does it show: This letter is only available to students who have completed a program at Niagara College. The COG is a letter outlining the details of a program you have completed. It will show the program name, start date and completion date.

Why may I need it? Required for PGWP (Post-Graduate Work Permit) applications.

Confirmation of work term letter (Co-op letter)

How to access: Download from your MyNC Portal – here is a Confirmation of work term letter (Co-op letter) guide and also included in your LoA (Letter of Acceptance) package.

What does it show: This letter is only available to students who are enrolled in a program that has a mandatory work term or placement (includes co-op term, practicum, placement internship, clinic etc.) This letter outlines the work that is included in your program of study.

Why may I need it? Required for a co-op work permit application.

Grade Report (COVID-19 Unofficial Transcript)

How to access: Download from your MyNC Portal – here is a Grade Report guide.

What does it show: Due to COVID-19, official transcripts are not currently available. In lieu of a transcript, students may use the Grade Report (COVID-19 Unofficial Transcript) which shows current enrollment and a history of enrollment and grades at Niagara College. The grade report also shows a student’s term GPA (calculated each term – for program GPA refer to your Academic Advisement Report (AAR)).

Why may I need it? Required for PGWP (Post-Graduate Work Permit) applications and some study permit extension application or other IRCC requests.

Academic Advisement Report (AAR)

How to access: Download from your MyNC Portal – refer the ‘my grades’ section, here is a Academic Advisement Report (AAR) guide.

What does it show: The AAR shows your program plan (the courses required for each level) progress with completed and in-progress courses. It also shows your overall program GPA (Grade Point Average) and will eventually show if you meet the requirements to graduate from your program of study.

Why may I need it? Sometimes required for immigration applications but more useful as a tool for students to keep track of their progress in their program of study. Students can use the AAR to verify if they are enrolled in the correct courses, what courses are next, check if they are missing any courses and see their current program GPA.
