Niagara College will host its fall 2018 International Student Awards ceremony on Thursday, November 15 and celebrate a world of success.
With the doors opening at 7 p.m. in The Core at the Welland Campus, the event aims to recognize the best and brightest students from around the world who have achieved remarkable academic success with grade point averages up to 98.71%. NC students will be honoured from across all of NC’s Schools of Study and more than $12,500 in scholarships will be awarded, thanks to the contributions of NC’s generous donors.
“This event is great opportunity to celebrate the outstanding achievements of our students and demonstrates the College’s commitment to student success,” said director of International, Sean Coote. “On behalf of Niagara College, I would like to thank the generous members of the community, who recognize the students’ hard work and dedication, and made the event possible through their support and scholarship funds.”
Twelve international students will receive academic awards which recognize the top grade point average in each school of study. Five more students will be awarded the Keith Segal – Guard.Me scholarship, which acknowledges applicants with top five grade point averages. In addition, the Dr. Mary Kilmer Tchalekian scholarship will be awarded to a student who excels in both academics as well as volunteerism and is someone who strives to make a difference in the community.
