Projects in AsiaChina | India | Indonesia | Japan | Korea | Thailand | Sri Lanka ChinaSigned during the Team Canada Mission to China and approved by the Shanghai Education Commission in 2000 and 2001, Niagara College delivered two Joint Venture programs in Shanghai, China in the areas of International Commerce and Computer Programming. Computer Programming Program at Shanghai Commercial Polytechnic (SCP)Seventy-six students enrolled in a three-year Joint Venture Computer Programming Program at Shanghai Commercial Polytechnic. Upon successful completion of the program students were awarded a joint SCP/Niagara College Diploma. International Commerce Program at Shanghai Commercial School (SCS)One hundred and sixty-seven students enrolled in Joint Venture English as a Foreign Language program at Shanghai Commercial School. Upon successful completion of the two-year EFL program, students entered into the two-year joint SCS/ Niagara College International Commerce Certificate Program. KoreaA group of eight educators from different vocational training institutes in South Korea, representing the Human Resources Development Services of Korea, completed a Professional Training for Educators program at Niagara College in August, 2005. The delegation was led by Mr. Jong-Bae Park, Training Director. The focus of the three-day program was Competency-Based Education. Through presentations, discussion and workshops, participants were guided through the concepts and processes of designing instruction based on competencies related to the workplace.
