Projects in Argentina - Friends of Yryapu

Friends of Yryapu (FoYy) is a not-for-profit Canadian organization that supports the Clemencia González Intercultural School of Aboriginal Tourism. The Clemencia González School is located in an Mbya-Guaraní aboriginal village called “Yryapu” (Thunder Water) near Iguazu Falls, Argentina
The Clemencia González School was built with support from the R
otary Club of Welland, Ontario, as part of a 3-year joint project between Niagara College and the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA).
Earlier this year, Claudio Salvador wrote "The tango says that while 'our muscles relax, ambition is working'. I want simply to tell you that we are ready to fight this battle of inequality. Our current task is to save the harvest of seven years of work with the Yryapú people. The special interest group that is threatening the continuity of the MATE project is tireless in its ambitions to destroy it all; nonetheless they have not been able to extinguish the hope of self-management that has made its home in this community since that [long-ago] marvellous September.
