New Students
Getting Started - September 2010
International Student Orientation starts on September 2nd, 2010.
College and Program Orientation is on September 7th, 2010.
Classes start September 8th, 2009.
The first few days in a new country can be overwhelming. New language, new food, new everything. This guide is to help you get started so that you can start classes fully prepared and ready for success.
If you have any problems, we are here to help. Our offices are open Monday to Friday from 8:30 to 4:30. We can also be reached by phone or email.

- Check in at the International Department
Complete the check in sheet with your Canadian address information and who we should contact in case of emergency. Please bring your passport in to be photocopied. We will keep it on file in case of emergency.
- Student Identification Card
Once you have checked in, you will have a student number. Stop by the InfoCentre at the either campus to have your picture taken and receive your card.
- Computer Access
Open Access Computer Labs are available for your use 7 days a week from 7:00am to 11:00pm. You will need to set up a computer account after you log in for the first time with:

- Timetable
Once you set up your computer account, you can access you timetable by following the directions on the college portal.
- Bank Account
Each student should open a bank account in the first week in Canada. Banks in Canada are safe and it is free to open an account. All you need is your passport and your student card. Choose a bank that is located near to where you live. It is best to open a chequing account.
